The Saxo Voce Ensemble In 2012, Thibaut Canaval decided to found a saxophone ensemble bringing together the whole saxophone family... and the Saxo Voce Ensemble was born! The Saxophone is recognised and appreciated by the general public, but has yet to establish itself in the same way as the piano or the violin, and remains a young and unclassifiable instrument. This singularity has led the Saxo Voce Ensemble to make transcriptions. Working with determination and pleasure on this fascinating task, they have succeeded in highlighting the fantastic qualities of the saxophone, adapting over thirty works by : Bach, Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Poulenc, Gershwin, Kodaly, Bernstein... Saxo Voce's other ambition is to promote the music of today through the dissemination and creation of music by young composers. To make music even more accessible to the youngest members of society, the Saxo Voce ensemble also runs a number of educational initiatives in the Île-de-France region. The Saxo Voce ensemble, which has a variable geometry, is keen to approach different musical genres while respecting their richness, and strives to combine different sounds in the service of the works performed. Over the course of its concerts, the ensemble has forged musical friendships with leading composers and soloists. The Saxo Voce ensemble has performed on France Télévisions and France Musique, as well as on prestigious stages such as the Salle Cortot, the Seine Musicale, the Bal Blomet, Châteauvallon-Liberté, the National Theatre of Zagreb...
